Singapore Turf Club is the only horse racing club and authorized operator for horse racing activities in Singapore. It also operates the Singapore Turf Club Riding Centre (STCRC), a 3- hectare site with riding arenas adjacent to the Singapore Racecourse at Kranji.

The Raffles Cup is a Thoroughbred horse race held annually at Kranji Racecourse in Singapore.Contested on turf over a left-handed course, the domestic Group One race is open to horses age three and older.

The first Singapore Gold Cup, held in 1924 at Farrer Park, was won by Thelasocrete, who took home the prizemoney of $1,600. In 1958 Abdul Mawi became the first local jockey to win the Gold Cup. In 1995 New Zealand jockey Kim Clapperton was the first female rider to win the Gold Cup.
