The Cincinnati Rollergirls is a women's flat track roller derby league based in Cincinnati, Ohio. Founded in 2005, the league currently consists of two teams which compete against teams from other leagues, and is a member of the Women's Flat Track Derby Association (WFTDA). [1]
In 2008, the league debuted an all-Ohio roller derby expo at the Ohio State Fair. [8] The event returned in 2009 and 2011. In May 2010, the league hosted the WFTDA Annual Meeting, known as Oh!con. In 2016, the league announced a name change to "Ohio Roller Derby", to better reflect its community and its members. [9] [10]
The ULC evolved into a more formal organization in July 2005, when representatives of 20 leagues met in Chicago, Illinois to discuss establishing a governing body for women's flat-track roller derby. [5] At the meeting, a voting system and set of goals was established, and a timeline delineated for facilitating interleague play.
NEO Roller Derby was founded as the Northeast Ohio Rock 'n' Roller Girls a group of eleven women from RCDD. [3] The Rock 'n' Roller Girls name was later reserved for the league's A team. [ 4 ] The league attracted attention for raising money for charities including Stewart's Caring Place [ 5 ] and the American Red Cross .

Burning River Roller Derby was started as Burning River Roller Girls in 2006, [3] and joined the Women's Flat Track Derby Association (WFTDA) in December 2007. [4] Burning River Roller Derby has three travel teams that play against other teams from other leagues. The A team, "Burning River All-Stars", plays WFTDA-sanctioned games.
