He was a loving husband of the late Eugenia (Kastic) whom he married in September 1947; together they shared nearly 66 years.

Roland J. Demers. Sr., of Arlington, died suddenly at Mount Auburn Hospital in Cambridge on December 14, 2006. He was 80 years old. Born in Amesbury he had been an Arlington resident for 55 years. An Army veteran of WW II and Korea, he was a receipient of the Purple Heart.
