Continue Certification - The purpose of the exam requirement is to regularly assess and measure clinical knowledge and demonstrate your competency in medical care across the wide spectrum of conditions treated by family physicians.
To verify that a physician is certified by the American Board of Family Medicine, please complete all the fields below. This system requires an exact match between the information that you provide and the information contained in our database. If you are a Diplomate of the ABFM, you are not required to pay a fee to obtain a verification letter.
Continuing Medical Education. A component of your family medicine certification is related to participation in continuing medical education (CME). Lifelong learning has been the focus of board certification since its inception, requiring an average of 50 CME credits annually.
