    ...Four tie-down cleats rated for 220 pounds each slide on rails, and D-rings bolted through... the box will take 440 pounds each... I fully compress the front suspension when I transport my bike. I would probably load it up "tail-end" first, and make use of the 'D' rings. That's if my wife lets me buy the e-racings race fairing set!!!

    I am a new Tacoma owner. Just purchased my very first one about 2 weeks ago. (absolutely love it) It is a 2010 with 3,000 miles, Mint condition. Could'nt believe it. However, I discovered a week after my purchase that the tie down cleats were missing.

    I wouldn't trust the cleats. I put D-rings in the front of the bed and use those and the ones already in the rear of the bed to tie in my bike. Those cleats are only rated for like 200# STRAIGHT OUT, not being pulled at an angle. People have tied motorcycles in with using the cleats but I don't trust 'em.

    The 3rd Gen sliding bed rail tie-down cleats are very convenient but also easily stolen by low life thieves. What are you guys doing to secure them? At present I only install them when I need to use them and store them in the cab otherwise. I would rather leave them in the bed rails all the time.

    Search for tie downs or cleats on the forum, there is a thread about the options that will fit into the track of our trucks. They make a t-slot nut that will work and in the various threads there are options for tie downs.
