Discover - multiple payments in 3 day period. In last few months, I have been paying off the balance on my Discover IT card before the statement is produced. This is so that the Statement will be zero and I benefit from the boost to my FICO score. My statement is due to be produced in a few days. Yesterday, i paid the full balance.
It seems to be a Discover thing, yeah; my other cards do not take as long to update. Sometimes smaller payments are processed much more quickly, but the larger ones definitely take longer. I don't know the size of LTL's payment in this case, but my experience has been they are slower with the large payments for sure. 03-12-2015 07:09 AM.

That account will have a statement close date, which may be based on a specific day of the month, or based on the date the account was opened. Your first due date will be at least 23 days after that statement close date, so you'll have up to almost 2 months before a payment is due, if the 1st statement cuts a month after opening.
It gives you a sense of accomplishment seeing the balance drop when you send the payment. If you decide to do this, let Discover know. It tells them that you are trying to correect the issue. So I just got my Discover It unsecured rewards card in July. On August 29th I submitted a payment that was returned due to me forgetting to - 5367641.

Re: Discover CC payment not showing online. That's the thing. It wasn't showing under pending payments online at all. Usually it's no big deal since I print out the proof, but since that went haywire and I couldn't actually remember making the payment and since it was a rather large amount (10K) I was worried.
The 2.2% is what intitally caught my eye; credit card fees for the 3 official payment processors are 1.85% to 1.98%. I owe $3500 for federal taxes. Discover will give me 5% for digital wallet purchases next month. I'll get a 2.2 percent fee from the IRS - 6687953.
Re: Cutoff times for credit card payments. Chase. Before 8:00pm ET post and credit same day, Saturdays will post on Sunday. 8:00-11:59pm ET credit same day, post next day. Fridays will post Sunday. Capital One. Payments submitted before 8 p.m., ET, Monday-Saturday will post the same day by midnight.
As it stands, adding a second card to the same username is being rolled out in "zones". I spoke to several reps about this last week. They both said once you're eligible, you'll see a "link another card to your user name" option. Until then it's just a sit and wait game. Message 2 of 2.
