Doctor Octopus (Dr. Otto Octavius), also known as Doc Ock for short, is a fictional character appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics.The character was created by Stan Lee and Steve Ditko and first appeared in The Amazing Spider-Man #3 (July 1963).
Chicago Tribune 's Mark Caro stated that Octavius was a "pleasingly complex" villain in Spider-Man 2, [36] with Kenneth Turan of the Los Angeles Times concurring with Caro, opining, "Doc Ock grabs this film with his quartet of sinisterly serpentine mechanical arms and refuses to let go."
