Kew Gardens is a Grade II–listed [9] interchange station on the District line of the London Underground and the Mildmay line of the London Overground.Located in Kew in the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames, it first opened in 1869 and is now managed by London Underground.

The station is located off Chiswick High Road and opened on 1 January 1869. The station is located in Travelcard Zone 3. On the District line, the station is between Turnham Green and Kew Gardens; and on the Mildmay line, it is between South Acton and Kew Gardens.
Despite the station's name, Union Turnpike forms the border between Kew Gardens and Forest Hills, and the station straddles that border, with multiple entrances located in each neighborhood. [ 7 ] The station opened on December 31, 1936 as the new terminal for the Independent Subway System 's Queens Boulevard Line.
