Mommaga (Kannada: ಮೊಮ್ಮಗ; English: Grandson) is a 1997 Indian Kannada language romantic drama film directed by V. Ravichandran and produced by Sandesh Nagaraj. Besides Ravichandran, the film stars Meena and Umashri in the leading roles. [1] The songs of the movie composed and written by Hamsalekha were received well.
Ravichandran was born on 30 May 1961 in Tirunelveli, Madras State (now Tamil Nadu), India to Tamil Mudaliyar N. Veeraswamy and Pattammal. His father is N. Veeraswamy was a producer of Kannada films. Ravichandran married Sumathi, on Valentine's Day; 14 February 1986. [9] The couple has a daughter Geethanjali, two sons Manoranjan and Vikram.
Premaloka marked the directorial debut of V. Ravichandran. The film was supposed to be produced by K. C. N. Chandru who later backed out due to the film's high budget and high number of songs hence Ravichandran himself produced it. [10] For the lead actress, Ravichandran rejected 52 girls before choosing Juhi Chawla.
All the songs are composed and written by Hamsalekha. [3] This was the last film with Hamsalekha - Ravichandran combination before they parted ways due to the differences in opinion.
