U.S. Route 93 Alternate (US 93 ALT) is an alternate route of US 93 in northeastern Nevada. The southern terminus is at Lages Station in northern White Pine County , where it separates from US 93. The route continues north to West Wendover where it joins Interstate 80 (I-80).
The highway follows the business route west and then north approximately 0.28 miles (0.45 km) to intersect Interstate 80. [4] US 93 Alt then joins I-80 and travels west concurrently with the Interstate for 59 miles (95 km). US 93 Alt. comes to an end in the city of Wells, reuniting with mainline US 93 at the I-80 East Wells interchange (exit 352).
A county road approximating the course of the present highway was indicated on state maps by 1933. Before the 1976 renumbering of Nevada's state routes, the road from US 93 to Cherry Creek was designated SR 35. The change to SR 489 was first seen on state highway maps in 1978. SR 489 remained unchanged on official maps until 1993, when the route number was removed from the state highway map. [45]
