After the 1988 model year, the EXP was discontinued, as Ford pared down its coupe model lines to the Ford Thunderbird, Ford Mustang, and the Ford Probe. As of current production, Ford has not produced another two-seat sports compact (its only two-seat offerings have been the Thunderbird and Ford GT).
