Mecosta County (/ m ə ˈ k ɒ s t ə / mə-KOSS-tə) is a county located in the U.S. state of Michigan. As of the 2020 Census , the population was 39,714. [ 2 ] The county seat is Big Rapids .
Morton Township is in central Mecosta County, 17 miles (27 km) southeast of Big Rapids, the county seat.According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the township has a total area of 35.6 square miles (92 km 2), of which 33.0 square miles (85 km 2) are land and 2.6 square miles (6.7 km 2), or 7.27%, are water.
