Roy was a cannery town on the South Coast of British Columbia, Canada, located on Loughborough Inlet north of the town of Campbell River and the Discovery Islands.. Roy was named after an early settler, a Mr. Roy, and appeared on the map first in 1919 as a settlement (it is now classed as a locality).

Kamloops is the focal point of Thompson Country. Thompson Country, also referred to as The Thompson and sometimes as the Thompson Valley and historically known as the Couteau Country or Couteau District, is a historic geographic region of the Southern Interior of British Columbia, more or less defined by the basin of the Thompson River.
The Farm was located in Richmond Hill on the north side of Highway 7 from Yonge Street to Bayview Avenue. The facility opened in 1912, was closed in 1959 and demolished in 1981. [ 12 ] [ 13 ] The surrounding land is now mixed commercial and residential development with no traces of the former facility.
Dunsmuir owned large tracts of land and invited Roy to look around for an area he might like to buy. Roy decided on beach property that would now straddle both sides of Royston Road on the east side of the Island Highway and north of the Trent River. Roy with a real estate promoter named Frederick Warren created village lots in 1910.
