Well, received my saw and it was just as the reviews said. Pretty much bounced around in the box during shipping. Sending it back. Think I’ll recoup and probably just get a brand new saw. Otherwise every reconditioned will probably be bashed up from shipping. Rethinking on the Dewalt. Maybe going to try the Makita.
I have a 12" sliding miter saw. Just wondering which 12" Freud blade model would be best for PVC Decking as in Timber Tech XLM, Azek, or Trex Escapes? The two chioces I've come across are the: Freud 96 Tooth for Laminate Floor / Model:TK807L and Freud 96T non-Ferrous Plastic / Model D1296N Or would just an Freud 80 tooth fine work well?

I will use the Makita 6 1/2" 18 Volt saw for the smaller molding, casing, and trim. The Craftsman 10" saw I use for Deck jobs and cutting PT if I have power on site. I use my Evolution 7 1/4" saw for any metals I have to cut like steel studs or aluminum etc. I have a sickness. Andy.
Actually, one of the best trim saws I've ever used was (IIRC) a 16" Hitachi miter saw (not a slider). It was years ago and belonged to the guy I worked for, and that's the saw I actually learned trim on. And the "any 10" saw can work for you" is kinda my point...
Ther has been a great deal of discussion about miter saws on the forum. Just type SCMS into the search box @ the top of the page and related threads will come up. Makita is what I bought, Good saw, just don't like the miter scale location. Bosch would be a good choice.
The bare tool is on sale for $399 down from $650 at HD right now. Im curious as well. HD just put out their black friday stuff and it looks like the M18 miter saws are on sale or you can basically get a free M18 fuel brad gun as a combo with either the 10" or 12" saws. Not sure if i really need to go cordless on the saw but i want the brad gun ...

30 or 35 years ago I was shopping at sears when it was sears.Of course everybody never left the store without checking out the tools. There it was The first Sliding Miter saw I ever saw. The first miter saw I owned was a Makita 10"no compound cut. It was about 70#. Well I bought the Craftsman 8 1/4 slider for 300.00 or 400.00 I forget.
