Silver Sonic (8bit) is definitely not Metal Sonic because Silver Sonic was all gray in S2(8bit). (The pic of Silver Sonic is wrong BTW.) However S2(16bit)'s and S3&K's Metal Sonics look too close to Metal Sonic in CD and Heroes to just be a coincidence. (Also "Metal" and "Mecha" from kanji can translate to the same thing.)
