Álvaro Rafael Martín Uriol (born 18 June 1994 in Llerena) is a Spanish racewalker. [1] He competed in the 20 km walk at the 2012 Summer Olympics but did not finish the race.
The race was first held on 16 May 1987, after being planned for about a year prior, with the help of the Xunta de Galicia. [2] With the exception of 2020, it has been held annually since, and it has been a part of the IAAF Race Walking Challenge (now called the World Athletics Race Walking Tour) since 2005 playing host to competitors from 63 countries.
