Zaire 74 was a three-day music festival held in Kinshasa, Zaire (now the Democratic Republic of the Congo) on 22–24 September 1974.The festival was conceived of, and planned, by South African trumpeter Hugh Masekela and US music producer Stewart Levine, who had been roommates at the Manhattan School of Music.
