The Te Kopahou Reserve is a scenic, conservation and recreation reserve in Wellington in the North Island of New Zealand. It is located on the south coast of Wellington, and features rugged landscape including the sea coast adjoining Cook Strait, and the hill tops of Te Kopahou and Hawkins Hill.
In 1983, a camping park next to the lake was built with chalets, caravans etc. The investment proved successful, and in 1990, the camping park was extended, with the chalets and caravans upgraded or renovated. Multiple sports activities were proposed (mountain biking, wind-surfing, volleyball and acrobranching).
The park includes the Myakkahatchee Creek and connection to the T. Mabry Carlton Reserve, [5] basic camping areas, 3.7 miles (6.0 km) of trails available for hiking, bike riding, and horseback riding, a picnic area, a parking area, and restrooms.
