The Toronto Marlborough Athletic Club, commonly known as the Toronto Marlboros, was an ice hockey franchise in Toronto, Canada. Founded in 1903, it operated junior ice hockey and senior ice hockey teams in the Ontario Hockey Association and later the Ontario Hockey League .

The Marlboros scored a league high 416 goals, while they allowed the fewest goals in the league with 199 goals against.

Ellis was signed by the Leafs and played junior hockey with the Toronto Marlboros of the Ontario Hockey Association from 1961–1964. He played on the team that won the Memorial Cup in 1964. [ citation needed ] Ellis became a full-time Leaf in 1964–65 and played 11 seasons to 1974–75 , winning the Stanley Cup in 1967.
