Kinetic art is art from any medium that contains movement perceivable by the viewer or that depends on motion for its effects. Canvas paintings that extend the viewer's perspective of the artwork and incorporate multidimensional movement are the earliest examples of kinetic art. [ 1 ]
Lines are marks moving in a space between two points whereby a viewer can visualize the stroke movement, direction, and intention based on how the line is oriented. [1] [2] Lines describe an outline, capable of producing texture according to their length and curve. [3]
At this point, "mobile" was synonymous with the term "kinetic art", describing sculptural works in which motion is a defining property. While motor or crank-driven moving sculptures may have initially prompted it, the word "mobile" later came to refer more specifically to Calder's free-moving creations.

The use of motion lines in art is similar to the lines showing mathematical vectors, which are used to indicate direction and force. A similar effect is found in long-exposure photography , where a camera can capture lights as they move through time and space, blurred along the direction of motion .

Space includes the background, foreground and middle ground, and refers to the distances or area(s) around, between, and within things. Texture – the way a three-dimensional work actually feels when touched, or the visual "feel" of a two-dimensional work
