The United States of America Wushu Kungfu Federation (USAWKF) is the governing body of wushu-kungfu in the United States. [1] The USAWKF manages and selects the members of the US Wushu Team to compete in various international competitions including the World Wushu Championships, World Junior Wushu Championships, World Kungfu Championships, and the World Taijiquan Championships.

Other styles include: Choy Li Fut, Fujian White Crane, Dog-style kung fu, Five Ancestors, Wing Chun, Southern Praying Mantis, Hak Fu Mun, Bak Mei and Dragon-style. There are sub-divisions to Southern styles due to their similar characteristics and common heritage. For example, the Fujian martial arts can be considered to be one such sub-division.
Shaolin kung fu teaches all these types of techniques. In kung fu, techniques are taught via two-person practices. In these practices, one party attacks and the other defends or counters or stands in posture for the other party to perform the technique. In Shaolin kung fu, in addition, two-person forms are taught.
Starting in 1985, the Chinese Wushu Association began to host the International Invitational Wushu Championships as a ways of standardizing the sport of wushu on a global scale. [2] After the formation of the IWUF at the 1990 Asian Games in Beijing, [ 3 ] the 1991 World Wushu Championships were quickly organized to be held in the same city.

'chop-hanging palm') due to its emphasis on palm techniques, is often practiced along with Bajiquan (Chinese: 八极拳; lit. 'eight extremes fist') [1] and is a style of wushu (Chinese martial arts) that features explosive, long-range power.
