OMEA logo. The Ohio Music Education Association (OMEA) is the Ohio state-level affiliate of MENC: The National Association for Music Education. [1] Of the 52 federated state affiliates of MENC, the OMEA is the third largest and is one of only two state-level affiliate chartered as a "music education association" rather than a "music educators association."

Berne Union's marching band (BUGRMB) competes in Class A and AA in OMEA Adjudicated events. Since 1996, BUGRMB has earned 32 Grand Champion Awards, 39 Reserve Grand Champion Awards, 95 1st in Class, 29 2nd in Class, 65 Best Auxiliary, and 57 Best Percussion Awards.
The percussion ensembles earned Superior and Excellent ratings.
In fall, the band members participate in the Viking Marching Band which marches in all Hoover football games, [12] OMEA marching competitions, [12] and the Pro Football Hall of Fame Grand Parade. [ 12 ] [ 13 ] The band received an 'Excellent' rating at the OMEA state finals adjudicated competition in 2013, 2014, and 2015. [ 14 ]
The choir travels and performs in New York City every other year. The Logan Elm Marching band of Pride received superior ratings at four of the six competitions they attended, eventually earning straight superior ratings at the 2023 OMEA State Finals. Concert Band also received all superior ratings at OMEA State Finals in 2024.

Louisville High School formed its first athletic club in 1916, and the boys' basketball team became a member of the Ohio High School Athletic Association in 1922. The OHSAA's records for the school's football team date back to the 1924 season.
