Adjectives may be divided into declinable and indeclinable categories. Declinables are marked, through termination, for the gender and number of the nouns they qualify. The declinable endings are -o for the "masculine" singular, -ī for the feminine singular, and -ā for the plural. e.g. sāno kitāb "small book", sānī keṭī "small girl", sānā kalamharū "small pens".

Shukraraj Shastri's grammar book published in 1928. Sukraraj Shastri published the first grammar book in Nepal Bhasa (in N.S. 1048, Kaulaathwa 10) called "Nepalbhasa byakaran". [7] Before that, grammar was limited to manuscripts and traditional teachings with wide variability. This publication initiated a standardization of grammar.

Sajha Publications was established in 1913 (1970 BS) by the then-prime minister of Nepal, Chandra Shumsher as Gorkha Bhasa Prakashani Samiti (Gorkha Language Publishing Committee). It was renamed as Nepali Bhasa Prakashani Samiti (Nepali Language Publishing Committee) in 1933 (1990 BS).
In 1909, Bajracharya published the first printed book using movable type. Shastri wrote a grammar of the language entitled Nepal Bhasa Vyakaran, the first one in modern times. It was published from Kolkata in 1928. His other works include Nepal Bhasa Reader, Books 1 and 2 (1933) and an alphabet book Nepali Varnamala (1933). [104]
The school was aimed to provide administrative education to common Nepali people. As the Rana rulers were intolerant about education, he shifted the school to Bhopur of Bajhang just after four years.
