The Church of the Transfiguration Historic District is a group of buildings associated with what was the Church of the Transfiguration Roman Catholic parish (and is now the Saint John Paul II parish), located at 5830 Simon K in Detroit, Michigan. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2019. [1]
Between 1976 and 1977, the first vows and receptions of the habit for the Fraternity of the Transfiguration took place. Three years later, on June 29, 1979, two religious of the Fraternity of the Transfiguration were ordained by Archbishop Marcel Lefebvre. The first Catholic church in the City of Mountain View was built in 1867 with funds gathered by Rev. Joseph Bixio, S.J., of Santa Clara.The original structure was a little white wooden building, topped by a cross, nestled among tall shade trees and enclosed by a white picket fence at the corner of El Camino Real and Alviso Road.

Francis and peer of contemporary spiritual leaders [5] who reverently maintained the Church until his death on August 1, 2017.
