Koç University (Turkish: Koç Üniversitesi) is a private non-profit research university in Istanbul, Turkey. [1] It started education in temporary buildings in İstinye in 1993, and moved to its current Rumelifeneri campus near Sarıyer in 2000. [ 10 ]

M. İrşadi Aksun (born 5 April 1957 [1]) is a Turkish professor of electrical and electronics engineering and the dean of College of Engineering at Koç University.He received his bachelor's and master's degrees from Middle East Technical University and his Ph.D. degree from the University of Illinois in 1990.
During his tenure at Koç University, Tan held several administrative appointments. He was the Dean of the College of Administrative Sciences and Economics during 2007–2013. Followed by this role, he served as vice president for Academic Affairs from 2013 till 2021.
Koç is a Turkish family of business people founded by Vehbi Koç, one of the wealthiest self-made people in Turkey. His grandsons, the third generation of the Koç family, today run Turkey's largest group of companies, Koç Holding , the only Turkish company on the Fortune Global 500 list. [ 1 ]
