Vasyl Virastyuk (Ukrainian: Василь Вірастюк; born 22 April 1974), is a Ukrainian politician and former strongman competitor. He is a brother of Roman Virastyuk . Virastyuk was the winner of World's Strongest Man 2004 .
The 2004 World's Strongest Man was the 27th edition of World's Strongest Man and was won by Vasyl Virastyuk from Ukraine. It was his first title after finishing third the previous year. Zydrunas Savickas from Lithuania finished second for the third year in a row.
Vasyl Virastyuk holds the record for most wins, winning the title 7 times. Oleksandr Lashyn has won the title 6 times and Oleksii Novikov 4 times. Three of the competition winners have proceeded to become World's Strongest Man (2004, 2020) and Europe's Strongest Man (2022, 2023) champions.
He would defend his title in 2003 in spectacular fashion. He won 4 of the 7 events, and claiming two 2nd places and a 3rd place in the remaining events to finish with 66 out of a possible 70 points, and 20 ahead of runner up Savickas. 2003 was also the first appearance of Ukrainian Vasyl Virastyuk, who finished 3rd.
