Something's to take note on. Astros are very picky about programming with 64 bit Operating systems. Some get them to work, others never do. I've never had an issue programming via USB to RS-232. I used the Iogear adapter (which is the one recommended by Motorola for all legacy programming via adapter).
Which AC to USB Adapter do you use? Any drawbacks? Can you use it to power the scanner without any batteries installed or with the battery switch in the ALK position? I'm still waiting for my BC125AT to arrive. The order was lost for a few days. I understand the USB female connection is a Mini USB? Can't seem to verify via Uniden's published info.
The only good USB to Serial adapter I have found is from U.S. Converters. I have been using the PRO version with Windows 7 64-bit for several months now without any problems. I have been using the PRO version with Windows 7 64-bit for several months now without any problems.
Just got a new BCT15X and it came with a cable that goes from a make 9-pin DIN serial connector to a very small usb connector. The radio has a a 8-pin DIN female connector on the rear panel and appears to have a matching (very small) usb port on the front. So it looks like this cable could...
The Uniden USB-1 and BCD396XT cable works ok with my Windows 7 HP laptop but does not work with my Windows 10 HP workstation. I use both Freescan and Proscan. I purchased at Fry's Electronics (RIP) some time ago a Micro Connectors, Inc. E07-160 USB Serial Adapter. It comes with a driver CD but, Windows detected and installed the driver ...
I had a Pro-97 and Pro-164 with the RadioShack 20-047 USB cable. This worked fine for these radios. I then bought a used Whistler 1065 to log P25 traffic. The 20-047 worked fine for programming, but when I dumped trunking data from the scanner to the PC, it would lock up the cable and scanner after about 10 minutes of use.
The below isn't Thunderbolt capable itself, (It's USB 3.0), , but if plugged into a port that can deliver enough wattage, (the 100 is power hungry when charging), it will work. Dell Adapter: USB-C to USB-A 3.0 | Dell USA
Hello everyone: I just got a Xts3000 m3 800 MHz radio and a programming cable, but when I try to read the radio, it says "Communication with radio failed". I am using Astro saber and Xts3000 CPS on a Win. 10 laptop, and I have the cable plugged in to a USB to serial adapter into the computer's...
For programming the FT5DR I would just do it via the MicroSD card as previously noted. If I wanted a USB programming cable, the one sold by RTSystems is $30. That same USB-68 cable also works with the Yaesu FT1, FT2, and FT3 handhelds. I own one and use it for Wires-X instead of purchasing the more expensive one from Yaesu.
It is not USB. The plug on the cable needs to be a Hirose connector. You need a cable to convert the USB output on your computer to serial. The cable that came with the scanner has a Hirose connector for the scanner and a DB9 connector on the other end. If you have that cable, you need a USB to serial adapter between your computer and the cable.
