Community Consolidated School District 46 is a PK-8 school district located in the northern reaches of Lake County, Illinois; almost half of its schools are based in the village of Grayslake. The consolidated district is composed of seven schools: those seven schools can further be divided into two branches.
The district overlaps with Brooklyn Community Boards 15 and 18, and with New York's 8th and 9th congressional districts. It also overlaps with the 19th , 21st , and 22nd districts of the New York State Senate , and with the 41st, 58th, 59th, and 60th districts of the New York State Assembly .

Grayslake is a village in Lake County, Illinois, United States.The village's population at the 2020 census was 21,248. CLC's primary campus is located in Grayslake and two other campuses exist in nearby Waukegan and Vernon Hills. It is located in the greater Chicago metro area and sits about 46 miles north of the city. In 1967, a referendum passed establishing the CLC community college district and classes began in 1969. [1]
Fremont Middle School was the original building that was built for the district in 1957. The school only had 12 classrooms and one small gym to host all the students in totaling 18,200 square feet. Every year, the district kept getting more and more students moving into the district and it was getting very tight in the very few classrooms.
