For the established zoysia in your lawn, 2-3 applications of Glyphosate mixed at 4% concentration every 2 weeks will kill it (and most everything else) when it is actively growing during the summer. Once you have the established zoysia killed off, your best option is a weed control barrier ...
Prostar is also very good." But, depending on what your dealing with.... +1 on Tebuconazole. It isn't labeled for residential use, but it works great for zoysia patch. Propiconazole is not phytotoxic to the point that it can't be used on Zoysia, you just have to be careful because it is a DMI fungicide.

At least it is for my zeon. Prop doesnt do much for my lawn. I just ordered Tebuconazole also which I think will be good for large patch also. Reply Like.
I find that my Empire Zoysia is WAY easier to maintain than my Tifway 419 Bermuda. The Empire takes half the water, half the fertilizer, 2/3 the PGR, and 1/3 the mowing that my Bermuda requires. In my case though, all my grass has full sunlight and open air movement which helps a lot with the common problems.

In Atlanta I would say this is late May to mid June. This allows for recovery before the mid July - August heat stress that we get.
My MIL has a completely Zoysia lawn in South Jersey around Glassboro. Her yard is probably a hair shy of one acre, and it's completely covered with grass. Gets a lot of sun. It's dormant for a majority of the year but really comes alive in the summer, especially after heavy rain. She doesn't water it otherwise and uses Scotts products exclusively.
4. I'm sure you already know this, but just in case you don't, or for others, the math on Milo is: Bag weight: 32lbs. Analysis: 6-4-0. Amount of N in one bag: 1.92 (6% of 32lbs) . To get: .5lb N per M, you would need to apply 8.33 lbs of milo product per M. .75lb N per M, you would need to apply 12.5 lbs of milo product per M.
Zoysia is picky. Zoysia needs a lot of water, regular mowing, and special selective herbicides just to be slightly more shade tolerant. This is why most people (who want what you want ie. low input/high yield) in this area will suggest Bermuda. The only downside is Bermuda is not shade tolerant.

I've never scarified but I do bag always and checking it closely it looks to have a light layer of thatch. It does get so thick that is seems to become a mat and mowers float. Should I do a light power-rake type detaching or use ...
Currently popular option is to use Fusilade II mixed with Turflon Ester. To make things easy and standardized I am going to try to show how much of the active ingredient should be mixed based off instructions I have seen. According to Fusilade II Label (Fluazifop-P-butyl 24.5% ): Spot Spray: 0.75oz/1k *0.245 = 0.18375oz /1k Fluazifop-P-butyl.
