  2. 10% leeway on essays - The Student Room

    www.thestudentroom.co.uk/showthread.php?t=7425170

As above, totally dependent on the uni and department/faculty etc. Also worth double checking for yourself what the policies are-by way of anecdote another student told me we had a 10% leeway which I accepted as truth (stupidly really) and I just realised that actually being 10% or less over the wordcount is just the threshold for a more minor penalty of 5% off the end grade in my department ...

In another, a student went so far over that their mark fell from what would have been a mid-2.1 to a high third, as we had to apply the stated penalty for each % over the word limit. It transpired afterwards that they had submitted an earlier, unedited version of the essay, but unfortunately there's nothing you can do.

  7. Turnitin Word Count - The Student Room

    www.thestudentroom.co.uk/showthread.php?t=6253938

Insert the word count alongside the header in your assignment (alongside your student number, probably)-the discrepancy between the Turnitin word count and the 'Word' word count will be obvious now you've emailed your lecturer about it. As @CTLeafez says, the URLs are probably in the reference list and therefore won't even count towards the ...

    www.thestudentroom.co.uk/showthread.php?t=7485619

Did my NEA based on quality of life last year. For the literature review, I looked at Danny Dorling's 32 stops then spoke on what the book was roughly about and how it linked to my study. I then basically took out 4 points he made (which in this case were factors that influenced quality of life) and said I was going to also investigate these to ...

Collections: At the start of each term you will have something called ‘Collections’ which is basically just another word for mock exams. These exams cover the previous term’s work. Most people only have 1 or 2, 3-hour long papers during collections. As a 1st year chemist, look forward to being the only subject to have up to 4, 3-hour long ...
