He was beloved by the residents and affectionately referred to as "The Mooch". In 1994, with female enrollment to the university increasing, the dorm was converted to a female dorm.
Each residence hall contains 64 suites, each suite is either all female, all male, or co-ed (only in Cashin and McNamara). Cashin is the 9-month break housing dormitory in the Sylvan Residential Area. Each suite is a mixture of double and single rooms, a common bathroom, and a common living room. Suites accommodate six to eight residents.
