D1010 on the West Somerset Railway Class 52 D1062 disguised as D1040 Western Queen on the Severn Valley Railway in May 2022. On Friday 26 October 2012 the locomotive made a guest appearance in one of that years Children in Need events when it took part in a race between the Severn Valley Railway and the Morgan car company. The race started at Bridgnorth, Shropshire and both would race to Kidderminster, Worcestershire by road and rail respectively.
However in 1976 Fund members approved a move to the Severn Valley Railway instead, where restoration was completed and the locomotive entered service in 1979. [2] Withdrawn in 1985, it returned to service on 12 February 2008, as part of the SVR's anniversary reopening train.
