Many people swear Yandex is safe, but It just didn't feel right. Its the same reason I stopped using Opera...well that and new new Opera Mini sucks. Same reason I stopped using Dolphin Browser and its sync extension (which is awesome btw, except for its ties with the CCP). Starting to feel like you have to choose between privacy and features ...

  3. Is Yandex Browser safe to use ? : r/browsers - Reddit

Nah, Yandex Browser is an ad for Yandex's services with a Chromium engine. Outside of my personal feelings about the war and Russia's government, I don't use many of Yandex's services, and having my data being sent to companies like Meta, Google and Microsoft is more than enough for me. 1. 4. should i use yandex? : r/browsers - Reddit

    www.reddit.com/r/browsers/comments/z5i8wu/should_i_use_yandex

One will hand your data to the USA, the other will hand your data to Russia. Nothing majorly different. If you do not like using Russian products, then you shouldn't use Yandex. If you want more privacy respecting browsers, you shouldn't use either Yandex, or Chrome, or Edge, and switch to open source browsers like Firefox or Brave. 1. Reply.

  5. Is Yandex Browser a good choice? : r/browsers - Reddit

    www.reddit.com/r/browsers/comments/h92y7r/is_yandex...

Yandex's customization is fair, better than Vivaldi's or Firefox's. I think it is a great browser, but I have heard privacy is a critical issue for Yandex. Anyways, I think Yandex is a Browser mostly used for leaving Chrome, as it is easy to use. Conclusion: Use Yandex to start experimenting with new browsers (that's where I began!)

  6. Is yandex safe and better than Firefox or chrome? : r/browsers -...

No, Yandex has abysmal privacy. Yandex is a Russian advertising company. They are basically the Google of Russia, and using Yandex Browser is basically the equivalent of using Chrome. They use your personal information for advertising, just like Google. So if you want privacy, stay away from their products.

I installed yandex browser later past year & satisfied with its' smooth performance. It's comparatively uses less ram & cpu usage.( perhaps hence it's a 32 bit browser.) Also it has a setting to enable dnscrypt encryption & it supports several dns resolvers including adguard dns resolver. It sometimes (not often) opens a tab on yandex video ...

So my default search is yandex.com.tr and I search in turkish that way and for english searches I go to that yandex.com bookmark. For image searches though, there’s still a complication. If I directly click “images” upon clicking yandex.com bookmark, it still directs me to yandex.com.tr for image search in turkish.

  10. Thoughts on yandex search engine? : r/privacy - Reddit

The advantage of disabling Javascript is that fingerprinting becomes practically impossible, which means that search engines that work without Javascript have a huge privacy advantage. nyet, is bad. If you don't find it on google use yandex. this is pretty accurate tbh.

  11. Can somebody recommend Yandex browser? : r/browsers - Reddit

    www.reddit.com/.../can_somebody_recommend_yandex_browser

One of the disadvantages is that it exists due to advertising, but it is easy to remove it with the help of the Yblock Original development build with filters. All the local stories about "spyware" are Russophobic nonsense, any browser discloses user data at the request of the court or security forces (Assange and Snowden will not let you lie). 1.
