The fourth-generation Ford Taurus is an automobile that was produced by Ford for the 2000 to 2007 model years. The Ford Taurus SHO (Super High Output) [1] is the high-performance variant of the Ford Taurus.Originally intended as a limited-production model, the SHO would be produced for the first three generations of the model line, from the 1989 to the 1999 model years.
The top-of-the-line LX, however, got the new 3.0 L DOHC Duratec 30 V6, which produced 200 hp (150 kW) and was developed specifically for this model. When Ford rearranged the Taurus models for 1998, the Vulcan became the standard engine, and the Duratec became optional on all models. However, it was only available on the SE for 1999. [18]
