The Town of Robersonville was incorporated in 1872. The first mayor was William W. Roberson, and commissioners were Henry D. Roberson, Staton Everett and Eli Askew. The Robersonville Primitive Baptist Church was founded in 1883.
Government. Robersonville operates under the council-manager form of government. The mayor and one council member are elected at large on a non-partisan basis for a four-year term. Four council members are elected from two districts on a four-year non-partisan term.
