The R. D. Whitehead Monument is a public artwork by Norwegian born American artist Sigvald Asbjornsen located on the south side of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, United States.The artwork consists of a bronze-relief plaque depicting a dog and horse, set on a granite pillar, which is in turn part of a fountain.
WET, also known as WET Design, is a water feature design firm based in Los Angeles, California.Founded in 1983 by former Disney Imagineers Mark Fuller, Melanie Simon, and Alan Robinson, [3] the company has designed over two hundred fountains and water features using water, fire, ice, fog, and lights.
The distinctive feature of the park is a large, two-tier fountain with cast-iron statues of 27 dogs and a cat. The dogs are all looking up towards a large bone perched on the fountain's peak. The cat is looking north at statues of two small birds perched on the arm of a lamp post about 3 m (9.8 ft) away from the fountain.
The Burnside Fountain consists of two parts, the basin and the sculpture. [1] The pink granite basin is rectangular and has four large bowls, two on either end, carved into its top. These bowls were originally designed as water troughs for horses, and a smaller, lower, bowl located on the rear of the fountain was designed for dogs. [1]
