[QUOTE=RCPAUL;41450535]The basic Rustoleum colors are fuelproof for up to about 15% nitro. QUOTE] I've found through use of Rustoleum White on landing gear and such that, over time, and even with judicious cleaning of the model after flights, the Methane in the 15% Byrons fuel that I always use will turn the White painted area a somewhat pink color.

But yes, most of the time, if it's a high-winger like that (beautiful model by the way, Kimber!), I just go to Hobby Lobby and buy their 0.007" plastic sheet. It's a little thin, but it works very well and it's light. Then I use canopy glue to glue it down, which is basically just a thickened version of Elmer's Glue.

Now here's the downside. What do you paint it with? Dope for model airplanes, like the "Pactra" we used to buy back in the day, is practically non-existent. The plane stalls very predictably for a model with a low 20s oz/ft wing loading. When pushed to a stall, the model slows down considerably and then drops the nose. I noted very little wing tip drop at all - impressive. But as with all twins, apply power slowly in recovery. Those twin KMS motors grab a great deal of air, and this bird performs well.

In the RC world of model airplanes with electric motors and battery packs, it means the location of the battery pack will be adjusted until the desired flight characteristics are demonstrated. That is why the vast majority of the ready to fly (RTF) foam airplane models have a specific location for the recommended battery pack that allows minor ...
