Divine Ikubor (born 1 May 2000), popularly known as Rema, is a Nigerian singer, songwriter and rapper. He gained recognition with his 2019 song " Dumebi ". That same year, he signed with D'Prince 's record label, Jonzing World . [ 5 ]
Rema was born in Lubaga Hospital, on 24 April 1991, to the late Hamida Nabbosa and the late Mukiibi Ssemakula. [1] She is the last-born in her family. She attended Kitante Primary School for her elementary school education. She studied at Saint Balikudembe Senior Secondary School for both O-Level and A-Level studies.
"Dumebi" is the debut single by Nigerian singer and rapper Rema. [1] Produced by Ozedikus, the song became a sleeper hit. [2] Its success spawned five remixes, including a version featuring American singer Becky G on February 13, 2020, and four additional remixes on March 22, 2020.

Rema started his music career at age 18. He signed with D'Prince's Jonzing World , an imprint of Don Jazzy 's Mavin Records in 2019. His self-titled debut extended play was released in August of that year and peaked atop the Apple Music Nigeria charts.
After the deal Rema released the 4-track eponymous Ep through Jonzing World on 22 March 2019. On 21 May 2019, Jonzing World and Mavin 's released the music video of the lead single "Dumebi" which was directed by Ademola Falomo and features a cameo appearance from Nigerian model Diana Eneje .
"Benin Boys" (stylized in all caps) is a song by Nigerian singer and rapper Rema featuring fellow Nigerian singer and rapper Shallipopi. [1] Released on 20 June 2024, as the lead single from Rema's second studio album Heis. It features a prominent Afrobeats rhythm. The music video was released the next day. [2]
