I am trying to download a vimeo video from a web page but the issue is that my flash video downloader works for some videos and for other videos ,it is disabled so how to resolve this,I have tried installing it again ,even tried updating my browser , but still not resolved.

I have been trying to get a couple of videos from 9now.com.au (previously 9jumpin.com.au). Unfortunately standard video downloaders don't have much success on ninemsn pages (thats what 9now.com.au is basically) they are too deeply embedded in the flash object. I have experimented with all sorts of things so far nothing has worked.

I run firefox 24 on my gentoo and use Ant Video Downloader to download flashvideos from about any site you could imagine. Moste video downloaders have trouble with other sites than youtube. You can finde it on the regular Firefox Addons Page, here. Its very simplistic but works good.
@user82171 No, it's really that the video player itself is "authenticating" or with their server and downloading the video, then playing it. Without authentication, the video won't play or download. There's really no way to tell for sure because most of this is taking place behind the scenes. –
then, just go to dir /tmp n find file with randomized name n have icon like video... if u find it, just copy and paste it to another dir (hint "yes" if question appear)... thanks for linux, it read file type by file header, not by extension. so, a file with no extension can be recognized.... it work on my Fedora 14 with Firefox 3.6.13
Type ren sourcefilename newfilename.avi where sourcefilename is the name of the file copied from the cache, and newfilename is the desired name for the video. Close the Command Prompt. Play the video easily.
