I see the death of the DVR for cable, but I like to think there is a market for DVR use for OTA. With all the free content available I cord cut by not having cable, limiting streaming services, and record as much as possible from OTA channels. With Tablo and Zapperbox entering the DVR market, I think TIVO could at least continue on with that.

TiVo keeps saying that for a TiVo and a DVR (such as Bolt or Roamio) to work properly, they should both be connected to Ethernet, or MoCA (not one via Ethernet, and the other via MoCA). I have had a TiVo Edge and three TiVo Minis for quite some time, with an Xfinity cable card. Two of my TVs are 4K. I also have an Xfinity box with DVR, which I only use for programs like OnPatrol that are restricted from cable cards. The setup generally works well, although I had to replace the Edge when it stopped working.
