From 1947 to 1965 NHS services in Buckinghamshire were managed by the North-West Metropolitan and Oxford regional hospital boards. In 1974 the boards were abolished and replaced by regional health authorities. Buckinghamshire came under the Oxford RHA.
The trust was established as the Buckinghamshire Hospitals NHS Trust on 1 October 2002, and became operational on 1 April 2003. The trust changed to its current name on 1 November 2010. [1] The current hospital, Wycombe Hospital, was built in phases on a site adjacent to the old Memorial Hospital with Phase 1 being completed in 1966, Phase 2 being completed in 1969 and Phase 3 being completed in 1971.
