    The Charger has the 2.7 for fleet and rental cars.I just talked to a salesman at Compusa and he had a 06 Charger with a 2.7.I read that they were going to have the 2.7 for the 07 model.If you see a Charger with no badge on the fenders,thats the ones with the 2.7.If you go on the Dodge website and look under Charger ,it shows the 2.7 as standard.

    2006 Dodge Charger RT, no additional options. Paid $26,599 vs MSRP $30,195 (incl dest). I love this car. I've never been happier driving around Los Angeles. I use to drive a Pontiac Grand Prix. Test drove the TL, CTS, G35, and of course Mustang GT. The RT simply rocks. This machine is sooo much more of a car than any of those I tested.

    I also have an '06 3.5L Charger now with 47k miles. The same problem (wouldn't advance beyond 2nd gear and no autostick capability) just happened to me about an hour ago. I've since dropped it off at the shop but am fearing a blown transmission.

    Remove plastic cowling from dash (Haynes manual useful). Unplug and remove gage cluster. Unscrew circuit board and flip over. Where wiring harness plugs into gage cluster, see if ground pin all the way at the end has a circular crack in the solder. If it does, resolder it.
