George Peppard (/ p ə ˈ p ɑːr d /; October 1, 1928 – May 8, 1994) was an American actor. He secured a major role as struggling writer Paul Varjak when he starred alongside Audrey Hepburn in Breakfast at Tiffany's (1961), [ 1 ] and later portrayed a character based on Howard Hughes in The Carpetbaggers (1964).
Audrey Kathleen Ruston (later, Hepburn-Ruston [ 6]) was born on 4 May 1929 at number 48 Rue Keyenveld in Ixelles, a municipality of Brussels, Belgium. [ 7] She was known to her family as Adriaantje. [ 8] Hepburn's grandfather, Aarnoud van Heemstra, was the governor of the colony of Dutch Guiana.
Breakfast at Tiffany's is a 1961 American romantic comedy film directed by Blake Edwards, written by George Axelrod, adapted from Truman Capote's 1958 novella of the same name, and starring Audrey Hepburn as Holly Golightly, a naïve, eccentric café society girl who falls in love with a struggling writer while attempting to marry for money.
