The Ku Klux Klan ( / ˌkuː klʌks ˈklæn, ˌkjuː -/ ), [e] commonly shortened to the KKK or the Klan, is the name of several historical and current American white supremacist, far-right terrorist organizations and hate groups. Bibb Graves. Bibb Graves (D), (1873 – 1942) was the Governor of Alabama. He lost his first campaign for governor in 1922, but four years later, with the secret endorsement of the Ku Klux Klan, he was elected to his first term as governor. Graves was almost certainly the Exalted Cyclops (chapter president) of the Montgomery chapter of the Klan.
The Adam Ploss Shop and Residence at N88 W16475 Main Street is a 2-story brick structure built in 1879. It has segmental arched windows, wide eaves with brackets, and a hip roof. Ploss was an immigrant from Bavaria who built cabinets, furniture, and whole buildings. He also co-founded a sash and door factory.
