24th Street/Jefferson station and 24th Street/Washington station are a pair of light rail stations on the Valley Metro Rail in Phoenix, Arizona, United States.They are the thirteenth stop westbound and the sixteenth stop eastbound on the initial 20-mile (32 km) starter line.
Southern Pacific Railroad 1673 is a standard gauge 2-6-0, Mogul type of the M-4 class, steam locomotive built in 1900 by Schenectady Locomotive Works; the engine was delivered in November of that year, and by early 1901 it was based in Tucson, Arizona and operated primarily in southern Arizona hauling freight trains.
The J. C. Penney–Chicago Store Building = was built in 1903 and is located in 130 E. Congress St.. J.C. Penney, was the building's longest single tenant, occupying the building from 1927 to 1957. The El Paso-based department store occupied the building until 1967 when it closed. The Chicago Store moved in after the El Paso store closed.
The townsite was listed in the National Register of Historic Places on November 7, 1978, reference: #78000550. The Dr. Roland Lee Rosson House (1895), now a Victorian-period historic house museum, and Baird Machine Shop (1920), which are individually listed in the National Register of Historic Places, are also located in the historic square. This plant included a machine shop, erection shop, boiler shop, blacksmith shop, coach shop, mill, upholstery workshop, tender shop, tin shop, veneer shop, and pattern shop. It also included a storehouse.
