Duronto Express, translating to "restless" in Bengali, is a class of long-distance rapid trains operated by Indian Railways. Initially conceived to operate non-stop between origin and destination stations, since January 2016, these trains have been permitted to make additional commercial stops and accept ticket bookings from technical halts.

The 22209 / 22210 Mumbai–New Delhi Duronto Express, also known as Mumbai AC Duronto Express, is a 16 Coached fully air-conditioned, non-stop version of Duronto-type service running between Mumbai Central and New Delhi. It is one of the fastest train to connect Maharashtra to Delhi. It is maintained by Western Railways (WR), Mumbai division.
These trains have limited stops and operate at speeds comparable to premium trains like the Rajdhani and Duronto. However, unlike premium trains, the food and meals are not complimentary on these AC Express trains. Instead, pantry car services are available, similar to those on other general express and mail trains of Indian Railways.

This train had its inaugural run on 11 March 2012 as train number 01093 from Lokmanya Tilak Terminus to Prayagraj Junction. Regular services commenced on 13 March 2012 as train no. 12294 & on 16 March 2012 as train no. 12293. It is a fully AC train & previously it used refurbished ICF Rajdhani Coaches.
This train had its inaugural run on 26 January 2011. It was & still is a 2 days a week service.
