Air strips on the other islands of Brava and Santo Antão are closed (2007) and can only be reached by ferry services from other islands. TACV does not publish timetables; flight times are listed on departure boards. Tickets can be bought at the TACV shop at each airport by queuing and paying in cash (euros or escudos).

Porto Novo is a city [2] in the island of Santo Antão, in Cape Verde. It is the seat of the Porto Novo municipality . At the 2010 census, the town had 9,310 inhabitants, which makes it the most populous settlement of the island.
The island of Porto Santo was the first of the Madeira Islands to obtain an airport. In 1959, [ 2 ] its runway was built with an initial length of 2,000 m (6,600 ft). The first aircraft to land at this airport was a TAP Air Portugal Douglas DC-4 , on 20 July 1960.
The total cost of the project is expected to be in the region of 50 million euros. The project is expected to expand and to stimulate the local tourist economy of the area.
