McLennan is one of three colleges in Waco along with Baylor University and Texas State Technical College. McLennan Community College is located on 200 acres (81 ha) on the north side of town near the Bosque River and Cameron Park. The McLennan Library Building stands on the site of Jesse Joseph's former mansion, named Dilcoosha, in the Golden Square Mile. Joseph was a prominent Montreal businessman, philanthropist and member of the city's Jewish community, and he died in 1904.
