Mar 30, 2020. #5. 33.5 grain Varget under just about any 105 is a good starting load for your first 150-200 rounds. After that look in the 34-35 grain area. My current loads in two different 26" 6GT barrels are at 34.3gr and 34.5gr under a 109 Hybrid, Hornady brass and CCI 450's, 2951fps and 2925 fps respectfully.
CONUS. Jun 22, 2024. #9. Normally I would think N540 might be a bit fast for heavies, but it seems like it’s working for people. N550 will probably give you a better velocity/case-fill ratio though. N150 will definitely save the throat on your barrel in exchange for some velocity loss, but N160 tends to be a better fit for the 6mm GT/Creed ...
Aug 17, 2020. 230. 63. Va Beach , Va. Aug 18, 2020. #4. Thomas there is load data on the Vihtavuori site for N133 powder with the Berger 60 Gr Flat Base, Max load is 24.2 Gr. also for the Hornady 60 Gr HP, Max load is 24.7 Grs. As always start low and work your way back up, your mileage my vary.
Dec 11, 2020. #1. This is probably a noob question, as I have been reloading for about 5 minutes. I am reloading .308 with 175gn Sierra HPBT and seeing significant max load recommendations between different sites. I currently have 2 types of powder IMR-4320 and VihtaVuori N550. N550. Berger reloading book 46.6gn - VihtaVuori site 45.8gn. IMR-4320.
Surprise, AZ. Aug 5, 2021. #1. I’ve searched high and low for load data using N140 for the 6 ARC. Does anyone have some Quickload data on it using necked down Lapua Brass, BR-4s and Berger 108 BTT’s? I’ve got several pounds of N140 and I’m pretty sure it would be a good powder for the ARC but I don’t know where to start.
Nov 12, 2022. #10. I'm using 43.5gr of N555 with Lapua SRP (CCI #400), Lapua Scenar-L 136gr, COAL 2.854, with great results. I've shots multiple 0.7moa group at 300 meters with a Tikka T3x CTR, factory barrel. Basically, I love the powder, it's very clean and got greats results at very varying temperatures.
Sep 4, 2023. #1. I’ve been looking around for some load data for 5.56 69 - 77 grain bullets. Specifically for 556 pressures not 223 Remington. I’ve been looking around for load data on this, but it seems that most people provide 223 Remington data, which is a bit cooler then 556 data. It’s also hard to distinguish between the two because ...
43 grains 140 match Barns match burners freedom pills. Starline brass .20 off the lands. This was not pushing the load or “hot” by any means. One could go much hotter and most do. As apparently 2800 fps is what most easily attained with a24inch custom gun.
Hoschton, GA. Apr 22, 2010. #4. Re: Vihtavuori N-570 for 338 Lapua. From what little testing I've done so far, I don't believe N-570 will give the same speeds as Retumbo and it seems to fill the case more. 93grs N-570 seems about the same as 95 grs Retumbo pressure wise and also seems to fill the case a little more.
Then using Lapua large primer brass and Lapua 139 bullets, Vihtavuori N160: 41.5grs = 1743 ft/s average 10 shots at 600 yards. 43.6grs = 1671fts average 5 shots at 800 yards. 100yards testing. 42.5grs = 2710ft/s. 43.6grs = 2782ft/s. Now the barrel has shot more rounds the current velocity for 43.6grs = 2845ft/s.
