University of Ibadan gate. The University of Ibadan (UI) is a public university located in Ibadan, Oyo State, Nigeria. Initially founded as the University College Ibadan in 1948, it maintained its affiliation with the University of London. In 1962, it became an independent institution, making it the oldest degree-awarding university in Nigeria.
Kumuyi was born into a Christian family in Erin-Odo Ijesa, [11] Osun State, western part of Nigeria.He completed his secondary school education in 1961 at Mayflower School in Ikenne, Ogun State, from where he proceeded to the University of Ibadan and in 1967 graduated with a first-class honours degree in mathematics where he graduated as overall best graduating student in that year.
Kayode Oyebode Adebowale FRSC (born 11 January 1962) is a Nigerian professor, scientist and the 13th Vice-chancellor of the University of Ibadan. [1] In October 2021, he became the Vice-Chancellor of the University of Ibadan, [2] having formerly served as the deputy vice-chancellor (administration) of the University of Ibadan, and as the dean of the faculty of science in same institution.
